WHAT ARE PVC PATCHES?

PVC patches are a modern alternative on the traditional embroidered patch. PVC is a kind of study plastic that comes in a wide variety of colors and gives your design a look and feel that embroidery can’t match at all.

PVC patches are waterproof and will barely fade, fray, crack even peel, particularly good options for outdoor use, sport events, military moral patches and any other things. The dimension and depth are the effects that PVC patches could give and pretty easy to be cleaned with damp cloth.

THE FEATURES & ADVANTAGES

ADAPTABLE

PVC is a material that has a rubber-like feel. Its plastic is even much softer than other forms of plastic and is versatile to any shapes no matter how complex your design is.

LONG LASTING

More durable than any other types of custom patches because it’s very stiff. It barely fades, frays, cracks or peels.

OUTDOOR USE

It has low maintenance and easy to clean that makes it ideal for outdoor activities from withstanding severe weather condition and corrosive elements.

STICKING OUT

There are 2D and 3D effect for your patch. The dimension and depth determine the overall look respectively.

WHAT ARE THE LIMITATIONS OF PVC PATCH DESIGN?

Color
gradient &shades

Color gradient and shades are very tricky for making PVC patches. To be on the same level for color changes, we’d suggest the separation marked with few visible recessed lines.

Sew Line

One of the distinctive feature of PVC patches from any other custom patches is there will be a sew line to protect the border from fraying if you choose Velcro backing. You can also skip sew line without backing (sew-on) or with adhesive backing.

No Iron-on Backing

Due to the material feature, PVC patches are not compatible with iron backings. The high temperature on the patches will cause fraying and melting damages on the border.

Border Thickness

To maintain the whole shape of patch, PVC patches are made with a border no thicker than 1 mm. If with a border thick, the patch will not fray but will look as if it’s loosely sew on.
